About The Course

Enrolling in one of Online Business School's English language courses is the best way to improve your understanding of the English language. This course is suitable for learners who can hold a basic conversation in English. The course covers key areas of English grammar and is divided into four domains of speaking, reading, writing, and listening, while also addressing spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Course Details

This course consists of ten modules, each comprising of ten guided learning hours and an optional five hours of recommended exercises, readings, and self-testing. The modules are as follows:

  1. Home, family and daily life – Develop vocabulary related to home/family life, learn communication skills, and understand text structure presenting advantages and disadvantages.
  2. Politics and socio-cultural issues – Develop vocabulary and learn how to access and understand news on politics and socio-cultural issues.
  3. Work and professions – Develop vocabulary relevant to work and professional subjects, and learn communication skills in formal and informal language.
  4. Health and fitness – Develop vocabulary related to health and fitness, and practice listening and following dialogues.
  5. Citizenship and politics – Develop confidence in giving opinions on local issues, and learn vocabulary related to citizenship and politics.
  6. Crime and punishment – Develop vocabulary related to crime and punishment, and practice listening and following discussions.
  7. The environment – Develop vocabulary related to environmental issues, and improve letter and email reading and writing abilities.
  8. Technology – Listen to conversations between retailers and customers about technological goods for the home, and learn about social media habits through a conversation between teenagers.
  9. Science and education – Develop vocabulary related to science and education, and practice listening and following discussions.
  10. The IELTS exam – Learn about the IELTS exam requirements, examples of questions, and helpful advice.

The first nine modules consist of a listening and speaking section and a reading and writing section to help learners develop their communication skills. The final module focuses on helping learners prepare for the IELTS exam.

This course comes as part of a package where access to 4 IGCSEs is given for the price of £1500, these include English, Physics, Maths and Business Studies.
