
About The Course
This course offers a level 4 diploma in accounting and finance and a level 5 diploma in business management, totaling 240 credits. It is designed to accelerate students towards the final year of an associated undergraduate degree in accounting and finance, which can be completed on-campus at a UK university or through distance learning. The level 4 modules and assignments are equivalent to the first year of a university degree, while the level 5 modules and assignments are equivalent to the second year. The course consists of 10 level 4 modules (120 credits) and 10 level 5 modules (120 credits), each with 6 written assignments. If a student decides to only study at level 4, they will receive 120 credits and may apply for exemption from the first year of a university degree course. Each module involves approximately 40 hours of guided learning materials, supplemented by 30-50 hours of optional learning materials, including recommended exercises, readings, and internet resources.

- This module provides learners with an understanding of numerical exercises and their use in the context of business.
Basic Accounting
- This module aims to provide learners with an understanding of accounts and how they can be used to provide insight into the health of an organization.
Budgetary Control
- This module explains methods of financial control using budgets, including the development and implementation of departmental budgets that are combined to form a master budget.
Financial Performance
- This module demonstrates how financial performance can be assessed in organizations through the use of financial statements, accounting standards, and ways to raise finance over different periods of time.
Financial Ratios
- This module demonstrates the application and meaning of commonly used financial ratios, including liquidity, solvency, gearing, and profitability.
Financial Statements
- This module describes the preparation and presentation of the three financial statements, including the accounting concepts used.
Further Ratios
- This module demonstrates how to determine financial efficiency, including understanding debt repayment capacity and investment appraisal. Learners will be able to assess the likelihood of future financial success using this knowledge.
The Entrepreneurial Manager
- This module examines the skills and qualities required for entrepreneurship.
Organisation Structures
- Learners will look at the numerous models and theories that make up organisational structure and examine what determines the optimum structure and how it differs between organisations.
Practical Accounting Analysis
- Learners will complete exercises in accounts throughout this module to understand what they are telling us and the actions that analysis can precipitate.
Business Planning and Goal Setting
- This module focuses on the creation of clear goals and plans to achieve a clear objective.
Politics and Business
- This module will educate learners on the impact of politics on business and how it may help or hinder business. It covers economic impact, exports, and government support.
Business Law
- Learners will explore the legalities of business and business executives, including statutory responsibilities of managers.
Managing in Today’s World
- This module focuses on governance and equality as a means to do right in business in the modern world.
Performance Management
- Learners will review reward structures, CPD, training and development to understand how their people and business can continually improve together.
Marketing and Sales Planning
- Learners will analyse how markets, customers, competitors and products can come together in a cohesive plan.
Quantitative Skills
- This module covers numeric exercises and their use within the context of the business.
The diploma in accounting and management at level 4 and 5 comprises of 10 modules, with 6 written assignments at each level. The assignments typically require students to write 2,000-3,000 words. The learning platform offers a ‘Tutor’ section for support on the modules and assignments.

Upon successful completion of the level 4 and level 5 diploma in accounting and management, as well as the final year of an accredited undergraduate degree program, students will possess the necessary credentials to apply for employment in fields such as marketing, accounting, human resources, management, or business consultancy
The fee for enrolling onto the level 4 and level 5 courses together is £5200. Alternatively students can enrol onto a single level (level 4 or 5) for £3800 each.

To be eligible for the level 4 course, individuals must have a full secondary education and be at least 18 years of age. To enroll in the level 5 course, individuals must have completed a level 4 or an equivalent qualification.
