About The Course

This course is designed to help retailers and eCommerce stores optimize and promote their websites to increase site visitors and revenues, as the number of people shopping online continues to rise. The course consists of 10 modules and 6 written assignments at level 4, and 6 modules and 6 written assignments at level 5. Completion of these levels is equivalent to the first and second year of a university degree, respectively, and leads to a 240-credit diploma in information technology and eCommerce. The course is intended to equip students with the skills necessary to become IT professionals, and includes access to tutor support and webinars, a social learning forum, and additional materials to aid in completion of the course.

Course Details

  • Computer Systems and Software: This module will enhance learners’ comprehension of integrating hardware and software components.
  • Computer Programming: Learners will employ different techniques and tools to design, implement, and test programs following the system life cycle.
  • Relational Database Systems: This unit will augment learners’ understanding of database systems, data analysis, and modelling.
  • Software Engineering: Learners will comprehend the need for software engineering and the different techniques and methods used in it.
  • Systems Analysis and Design: This module provides learners with an understanding of IS concepts and their relation to business processes and information transformation in organizations.
  • E-commerce Applications: This module explores the role of e-commerce in the modern world, the identification of business aims and objectives, and design issues that emerge from defining requirements.
  • Human-Computer Interaction: This module will develop students’ comprehension of human-computer interaction principles and models, evaluate existing HCI design and principles, and plan their own prototype multimedia user interface accordingly.
  • IT and Society: This module examines the impact of technology on society and explores created trends and changes, management issues, and potential conflicts in terms of security and data management.
  • Information Systems Theory and Practice: This module explores project management elements critical to successfully developing and implementing specific IT projects.
  • Management Information Systems: This module focuses on understanding the concepts of information systems and how they support business needs in terms of information processing and data processing.

Listing of Level 5 Modules:

  • Technopreneurship: This module aims to equip learners with the knowledge and skills required to start a new technology-based business. It includes understanding entrepreneurship characteristics, planning, marketing, and finance.
  • Network Security: The unit focuses on providing learners with knowledge of network security issues in a networked environment and the process of preventing and detecting common security incidents.
  • C#.NET Programming: This module aims to provide learners with the basic concepts and principles of ASP.NET programming using C#. It enables learners to understand how to create dynamic web pages using server-side programming techniques.
  • System Administration: This module provides the knowledge needed to administer a system in Linux and Windows. It covers topics such as user and group management, file system management, task automation, shell scripting, DHCP servers, mail servers, domain name servers, file and printer sharing, basic utilities and tools, application management, registry, local and group policies, backup policies, restore policies, and performance tuning.
  • Business to Consumer (B2C) E-commerce: The aim of this module is to provide learners with knowledge of business-to-consumer e-commerce. It covers concepts and techniques used in mobile e-commerce and ticketing, the psychology of marketing, AI in image recognition, and social commerce.
  • Business to Business (B2B) E-commerce: This module aims to provide learners with knowledge of business-to-business e-commerce. It includes Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), online transaction processing, inventory management systems, and supply chain management.

The Qualifi level 4/5 IT and E-commerce course includes six written assignments at each level, with each assignment consisting of approximately 2,000-3,000 words. Students can receive support on the modules and assignments through the “Tutor” section of the learning platform.

As students progress through this course, they will enhance their skills in programming, software development, and systems analysis and design. After successfully completing the course, students may choose to pursue a career in IT either in the public or private sector.

The fee for enrolling onto the level 4 and level 5 courses together is £5200. Alternatively students can enrol onto a single level (level 4 or 5) for £3800 each.

You need to have a full secondary education and be at least 18 years old. To enroll in the level 5 course, you must have completed the level 4 course or an equivalent qualification.
