About The Course
The Physics IGCSE is a globally recognized certification that aims to establish a strong comprehension of physics principles, theories, and experiments under various circumstances, such as different types of motion. The course is aligned with Pearson's Edexcel International IGCSE Physics, which is identical to what you would learn in school. Throughout this course, students will learn about the practical and theoretical aspects of physics, including how to form hypotheses and design experiments. They will also learn how to evaluate the pros and cons of scientific and technological advancements. Moreover, students will get familiar with essential scientific formulas, be able to use them correctly, and identify various symbols used in these formulas. The content of this course is divided into 8 modules, and it includes an assessment upon completion to evaluate and reinforce the student's knowledge and understanding. Therefore, our students have the best opportunity to obtain an IGCSE certification in a cost-effective and flexible way.
Course Details
Force and Motion Measurement is important in every aspect of physics. In this module, standard units are introduced and studied. Electricity Units in electricity can be confusing. This module aims to help learners to understand and identify the correct units associated with electricity. Waves After working through this module, learners will be familiar with using units such as degree (°), hertz (Hz), metre (m), metre/second (m/s) and second (s) when working with waves. Energy Resources and Energy Transfer This module covers units such as kilogram (kg), joule (J), metre (m), metre/second (m/s), metre/second2 (m/s2), newton (N), second (s) and watt (W) in the context of energy resources and energy transfer. Solids, Liquids and Gases The three states of matter – solids, liquids, and gases – have their own unique set of units that are explored in this module. Magnetism and Electromagnetism This module covers the units of ampere (A), volt (V), and watt (W) in relation to magnetism and electromagnetism. Radioactivity and Particles This module delves into radioactivity, which can often be viewed as a scary and unknown area. Learners will gain a better understanding of what radioactivity is. Astrophysics The laws of force and motion also apply to space. In this module, learners will explore the motion of planets, the importance of gravity in space, and the calculation of speeds in space. |
To register for the Pearson Edexcel International IGCSE Physics (specification 4PH1) exam, students should secure a place at an exam center approximately six months before the exam date. The exam center can be a private center or a school/college that is also submitting its own students for the exam. Edexcel provides a list of exam centers that accept private candidates, but it may not include all available centers. If there are no centers listed in your area, you can contact local schools and colleges directly for more information. Please note that exam fees are not included in the course cost and are paid directly to the exam center. The fees vary depending on the chosen center. |
After finishing this course, students will have acquired the essential foundations and knowledge required to pursue A levels or a Level 3 qualification with Online Business School.
